About the role
We are seeking an engineer to join our team on-site to assist on projects in the Newcastle region. This role will require someone who is passionate about geotechnical engineering and eager to learn the different dynamics of engineering, construction, geotechnics, and business development.
You will be responsible for
- Reviewing tender schedules, drawings, and geotechnical reports, and providing summaries as required
- Undertaking risk assessments and cost benefit analysis on tenders
- Preparing budgets and tenders for foundation and ground improvement solutions, while working with the design and estimating teams to determine best solutions
- Preparing and carrying out foundation and ground improvement designs and following certification inspections through on-site
- Providing design support for projects under construction
- Visiting sites to carry out inspections / soil logging / pile testing
About you
To be successful in this role you will be a team player, adaptable, and someone who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and joining our team out on site.
To be considered for this position, you will

Degree qualified in civil engineering or related discipline with exposure to geotechnical engineering content

Ideally 2-4 years’ experience as an engineer

Hold a construction industry White Card (or willing to obtain one)

Have good communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders

Demonstrate good problem-solving skills while working in a high-pressure environment

Show initiative and can work autonomously as well as part of a team

Basic AutoCAD or experience in the construction industry will also be highly regarded
Please note this role may require some travel to regional / interstate locations and periods of time working away from home.
