About the role

We are seeking Heavy Diesel Plant Mechanics to oversee maintenance operations, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our specialist plant and equipment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Servicing and maintaining heavy plant and mobile equipment
  • Skilled in diagnosing and repairing diesel engines
  • Proficient in working with hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, and cylinders
  • Experienced in mechanical repairs to drivetrains, transmissions, and braking systems
  • Competent in basic electrical fault-finding on plant equipment
  • Able to perform both planned maintenance and breakdown repairs efficiently
  • Adheres to safe work practices, isolation procedures, and workshop standards
  • Knowledgeable in plant maintenance schedules and maintaining accurate documentation
  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with HSEQ policies & safety standards
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal teams, suppliers & subcontractors
  • Provide technical support and ensure work meets Keller's quality standards
  • Able to carry out day-to-day hands-on fitter duties alongside leading responsibilities

 

About you

  • Trade-qualified Mobile Plant, Heavy Diesel Vehicle Mechanic (Certificate III or equivalent)
  • Strong experience in similar environments
  • Hands-on experience across a wide range of heavy machinery equipment
  • Diagnostic, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and diesel engine repair skills
  • Proven experience in component and full machine rebuilds, overhauls, shutdowns, and preventative maintenance to OEM standards
  • Confident working independently onsite, managing servicing schedules, breakdowns, parts procurement, and maintenance priorities
  • Additional skills in fabrication, fitting, machining, welding (MIG, oxy, plastic), and auto-electrical diagnostics (advantageous)
  • Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and maintaining fleet uptime full Australian working rights
