About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to join our growing Engineering team based in Braeside VIC.

Working closely alongside the Engineering Manager, this role will provide technical leadership across tenders, estimates, and project delivery while supporting the ongoing development of Keller’s engineering capability nationally.

You will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and implementing detailed geotechnical designs across piling and ground improvement projects, while mentoring developing engineers and contributing to innovative and commercially effective engineering solutions.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and review detailed geotechnical and structural designs for piling and ground improvement projects
  • Provide technical support and design verification during project delivery
  • Undertake advanced numerical modelling and analysis
  • Mentor and develop graduate engineers and other developing design staff
  • Support tenders, estimates, technical submissions, and constructability reviews
  • Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards, client requirements, and Keller HSEQ standards
  • Develop innovative and cost-effective engineering solutions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and key stakeholders
  • Support business development activities and represent Keller in technical discussions where required

 

About you

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering
  • 7–10+ years’ experience in geotechnical design and project delivery
  • Professional Engineer status with ability to obtain registration and licensing across Australia, including Victoria, South Australia, and Tasmania
  • Strong understanding of soil mechanics, foundation systems, and ground improvement solutions
  • High level proficiency in software including Plaxis 2D/3D, WALLAP, RAPT, ADSEC, or similar geotechnical modelling tools
  • Strong communication, leadership, and mentoring capability
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards including AS2159, AS3600, and AS4100
  • Structural and Civil Engineering experience will be highly regarded
